Miss World Singapore contestant in local R21 movie says she's 'not a porn star'

The Singaporean actress who is starring in controversial film 'Lang Tong' has spoken up on her Facebook page.

Directed by Sam Loh, the local film made headlines recently when it passed uncut by censorship at the Singapore International Film Festival.

Miss World Singapore 2014 3rd runner-up, Angeline Yap, relates how it was overwhelming to see her face plastered on newspapers and websites everywhere.

In her Facebook post, she also responded to criticism and clarified that she was not a beauty pageant finalist at the time the movie was filmed.

She wrote, "It's kinda overwhelming to see my face and name everywhere on different websites and Newspapers.

"But well I guess, it's part and parcel of fame, in a positive way I hope.

"I would like to emphasize one last time, when I was filming this movie it was in FEB 2014. I was not in any beauty pageants. AND I WAS NOT the Miss World Singapore 3rd Runner Up when filming the movie. But now I am.

"So please don't say, "How can Miss World 3rd Runner Up do this, do that" and etc."
Yap ended the post with a statement: "And I'm NOT a porn star. Thanks for your attention."
