Need to be perfect before you plunge into matrimony? Here is your checklist.
Indian weddings are all about that hard-to-miss sartorial elegance.
Splendour and style are synonymous to this mega event in our lives. The
suave sophistication, of a western formal suit can do a lot to add to
the look of the groom. However, most men have some common problems that
need to be looked into before their D-Day. Here is a list you need to
get sorted well before your wedding day.
Do you have patchy skin?
Patchy skin can be dealt with with the help of microdermabrasion,
chemical peels and also laser. Cosmetologist Dr Rashmi Shetty says,
"Depigmenting creams work at different levels of melanin synthesis and
can give your skin a radiance and make it look fairer." Consult a
dermatologist to know what is right for your skin.
Do you have a
snoring problem? Loud disruptive snoring is a social problem that may
strain relationships for many men. Laser specialist Dr Gauri Desai says,
"Most people don't think of snoring as something to be overly concerned
about. But this can be a huge problem. A painless, non-invasive laser
treatment which takes merely three sessions of 20 minutes each, can help
ease snoring blues completely."
Balding? or thinning hair?
Most Indian men begin to bald in patches even before they reach their
mid-thirties. This, fortunately, is reversible with hair transplant — a
solution that many are opting for. Dr Apoorva Shah, trichologist, says,
'This is the only one solution to deal with the problem of thinning hair
and balding." However, trichologists say that you need time for this
because your hair has to grow back. Trichologist Dr Sonal Shah says,
"There is another technique that is faster and less expensive which
covers the scalp. This works when your hair is thinning and the white
scalp is beginning to show." Apart from these techniques, there are also
the simple DIY tips that if followed regularly can help your hair
texture and growth — oiling regularly, using a good quality shampoo and
conditioner, getting regular hair spas done etc.
Bulging belly?
A beer belly is one of the most common problems. Diet pills, fad diets
and miracle medicines should not be resorted to. Clinical nutritionist
Dr Pooja Makhija says, "Eat small meals at regular intervals to boost
your metabolism. So, effectively, you eat to delete fat in your body."
When this simple tip is followed along with the rule of 'no food after 7
or 7.30 pm', you can really lose weight. And exercising every single
day for at least 20 to 30 minutes is a must. However, despite all this,
if you cannot get rid of fat deposits on your belly, then you can opt
for laser. Laser specialist Dr Gauri Desai says that laser can be used
to target and burn spot fat.
Excess body hair This can be
unsightly. There are temporary methods to deal with this like, waxing,
shaving and depilating. But permanent methods like laser hair removal
can deal with this problem effectively. Cosmetologist Dr Jamuna Pai
says, "Laser when done for a few sessions and used the correct way can
lessen hair growth to a large extent. If followed up, then it can really
make a difference."
