Do you find yourself losing your precious minutes during your day because of bad time management? Looking for some ways to make more use of your time? Sometimes the day just seems to get away from you before you can even bat an eye, and it seems that you don’t have time to accomplish some important tasks. You can avoid the problem of running out of time by following the tips for making more use of your precious time. You’ll find more time in your day you didn’t even know existed!
Tips for Making More Use of Your Precious Time

1. Make lists

Creating a schedule will help itemize and prioritize the day. If you know what exactly you should do during the day, your day will run smoothly and you won’t waste your precious time. Remember, your list shouldn’t be too long. You are not a superhuman and you can’t do thousands of tasks in a single day. Long lists can stress you out and decrease your productivity. Get your most important tasks done first, and then think about smaller and easier tasks that you can accomplish late in the day.

2. Set goals

I usually set three or four main goals every day to accomplish, and tackle the biggest, most important or most time-consuming goal first. If your goals are huge, break them down to smaller ones. If your goal is to learn a new language, you won’t do it at once. Aim to learn at least 20 words each day and you will reach your goal faster than you think.

3. Don’t skip lunch breaks

What do you usually do during your lunch break? Perhaps, you run errands, pay bills, or even catch up on a few episodes of your favorite TV show, forgetting to eat your lunch. But you should never skip eating in order to get everything done on your lunch break! Going for a short walk during your lunch break is a healthy way to relax and clear your mind.

4. Multitasking

One of the best ways to make more use of your precious time is multitasking! Multitasking is very easy, usually the perfect solution, and can save plenty of time during your day. But don’t try to do too many things at once because you will feel overloaded. If you have a few important projects at work, make sure to do them one at a time.

5. Get rid of all your time-wasters

All those time wasters take up more of your precious minutes, so you should try to get rid of them! Social media, stopping to chat for thirty or more minutes with your co-workers, or browsing the clearance an extra 20 minutes on your lunch break, these are some of the biggest time-wasters. Find out what your time-wasters are and get rid of them! This will help save you extra time during the day. If you work from home, turn off the television.

6. Little clips of time

There are many little clips of time, which are thrown away throughout the day. Time spent on hold, between commutes, and waiting rooms, you could be throwing away several hours without even knowing it! Why not use these times to make a grocery list, make phone calls, read your homework, or catch up on Facebook? You can also listen to audio books or use this time to learn a new language.

7. Learn to control social media interruptions

One of the biggest problems of a modern society is social media. Nowadays many people are addicted to it. I have a really bad habit of leaving my Facebook page open while I’m at work. It really slows down the progress! So I start creating certain times to check my Facebook notifications. If you have plenty of important tasks or you’re expecting a very important email or call, try to steer clear of social media during the day.

Time is very precious so don’t waste it on things you don’t need and people you don’t like. Try to follow these tips to make more use of your time. You will have more time to enjoy your life to the fullest, if you stop wasting your time. Do you have any tips for making more use of time? Share them please!
