Three bridal hairstyles you can try

When given a new twist, even old, classic hairdos can look very glamourous. Here are some tips to help you get these looks.
There are some hairstyles that are timeless and they can be perfect for weddings. The ever simple and ever evolving buns, the French braids and fishtail braids and such other ways of doing up your hair, will never cease to be in style, so, when after a decade, you take a look at your wedding photographs and videos, it won't make you feel ancient. Buns and braids are typically Indian and we have grown up seeing them on our mothers, aunts and grandmothers. However, when given a new twist, these can look very glamourous. Here are tips to do these classic hairstyles...
Look 1 - Diva for the day

Goes best with: This eternally classic hairdo, is ideal for an off-shoulder wedding gown because it really highlights the neck and shoulder. A lace veil when teamed with this hairdo, works well. Don't wear it with: This hairstyle won't hold well if you are opting to wear a heavy veil of traditional Indian silks, an embroidered duppatta. Plus, it will not even be visible under opaque headwear. Deck it up: Use a single monotone floral accessory on one side

HOW TO GET THIS LOOK: Begin by dividing the hair into sections. Leave the front sections and start making loose plaits with the sections at the back. Now make one large bun at the back of your head, with the three loose plaits that you had made, and also incorporate the front sections of hair. You need to twist these as you make them into the bun. Use pins to hold the bun in place wherever required. Your hair needs to be squeaky clean and well conditioned to get this look. If you have poker straight hair then make sure that you curl them before your begin.

Look 2 : The princess of waves

Goes best with: This is one style that will work well with a gown as well as a traditional lehenga-choli. Try this if you have really healthy hair. If not, there are good quality wigs and hair accessories that can help you pull off this look.

Don't wear it with: Avoid this hairstyle if your have limp, thin hair because it will not hold up at all. Avoid wearing this with a silk wedding sari — the too-casual style will not gel well.

Deck it up: Use cluster pins with pearls on top, to hold hair. You could do this for both sides

HOW TO GET THIS LOOK: This look needs loose curls. So after cleaning your hair, and conditioning it you need to blow dry it on a cold setting. Use round brushes on sections of your hair as you dry it. Now comb the hair into a side parting (you could also do a middle parting). Divide the hair into small sections and iron it straight. Comb through. Then again make sections and take each section of your hair and curl it using curling irons or rollers. Once the entire head is done, very lightly run your finger through it to let the curls fall into place. Fix with spray. Use pins on the sides to hold the hair in place.

Look 3: The fishtailed fairy

Goes best with: This hairdo looks best with a traditional sari, lehenga or sharara. Even if you need to cover your head for the wedding ceremony this hairstyle will hold.

Don't wear it with: This won't look good for a white wedding. Wedding gowns look best with updos. If you have short hair, or shoulder-length hair, then do not opt for this. Waist length or longer hair will work for this style.

Deck it up: Pin two decorative butterfly hair clips on either side

HOW TO GET THIS LOOK: Comb through clean blow-dried hair. Make a middle parting. Take a small section from both the sides in the front, twist and pin them behind. Now, divide hair into two sections and begin the fishtail braid. Take a few strands from one section to the other and then from another to the previous one, as you keep plaiting. Once the braid is ready, pull at the sides of the braids lightly to loosen it giving the braid a fluffy thick look.
